JOB TITLE: Utilization Management/Quality Management
Manager
JOB OPENDATE: Wednesday, January 2, 2008
REPORTS TO: Medical Director
DESCRIPTION: Responsibilities of the Utilization Management/Quality
Management Manager include, but are not limited to: oversight of the overall
UM/QM, Case Management, Wellness and Marketing operations to include planning,
development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all personnel and
program activities. Ensure compliance with HMO’s regulations. May receive
operational direction from the Administrator.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1.Three (3) years recent utilization management or quality management experience
in a clinical setting and/or at least three (3) years recent managed care
experience with previous clinical experience of not less than three (3) years.
2.Working familiarity with the basic principles of contract law, risk management
and health care economics.
3.Word processing and computer experience required. Microsoft Office Suite
experience (Word, Excel, Access) desirable.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE: Must be a licensed RN with the State of
California.
SKILLS REQUIRED: Knowledge of: Clinical diagnosis and procedures, treatment
and clinical costs; organizational policies, procedures, systems and objectives;
medical communications systems and applications. Skill in: planning,
researching, preparing and presenting reports; problem-solving, decision making;
organization, time and resource management. Ability to: gather and analyze data
and prepares meaningful reports to present to QM/UM committee, Per Review and
Credentialing Committee on a regular and timely basis; exercise initiative and
judgment; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees,
providers, health plan partners and the public; communicate effectively orally
and in writing. Ensure: that RCMG complies with regulations, policies and
procedures of our Health Plan partners.
